I am Kristi Kowalik, a Certified ISR Instructor.  Every ISR instructor undergoes 6 weeks of intense training.  Hands on, in the pool with an ISR Master Instructor and student, learning the ISR method.  For 6 weeks, we are in the pool 5 days a week for multiple hours a day, for a minimum of 60 hours with actual students.  In addition, we receive academic training in anatomy, physiology, child psychology, behavior and development, sensorimotor learning, and how each relates to the environment.  Every instructor also maintains CPR and First Aid certifications, as well as annual recertification and testing to maintain our ISR certification and skills.

I became passionate about ISR after my son attended lessons. We signed him up for ISR when he was 3 and he had the most wonderful experience.  He turned into a fish in a very short amount of time. I fell in love with the training and decided to dedicate myself to learning all I could about ISR and becoming an instructor.

My family and I have lived in the Texas Hill Country since 2000!  We love the area and all that it has to offer. I was a dental assistant for 18 years with an amazing dentist, but I took some time off when the kids were little so that I could stay at home with them. My children attend a local elementary and middle school and are very active within LTISD and LTYA. Our family loves to be outdoors, travel and just be around water.

Through my rigorous ISR Instructor certification, I was trained and tested in the areas of child psychology, physiology, anatomy, behavioral science and early childhood development principles to provide the safest lessons possible for your child.

Drownings do not discriminate. They happen to good families and very loving parents. All bodies of water can be dangerous and deadly to children. ISR lessons give children the tools they need to save themselves. Join me in ISR's mission of "Not One More Child Drowns." Take the first step and enroll your precious child in these lifesaving lessons today!

Financial Assistance:
Financial Assistance is available to those who qualify. Scholarships are limited please contact me to see if any are available before applying! ISR’s goal is to prevent drowning and through our ISR Community of Caring, we offer lesson fee scholarships to families in need, to ensure that no child is prevented from enrolling in ISR Lessons due to financial need. Funds are set aside by ISR on an annual basis for families in need to apply for financial assistance to cover a portion of the cost of program participation.

Refresher Classes:
Refresher lessons are extremely important in continuing and maintaining your child's ISR Self-Rescue™ skill development. Children grow and develop rapidly from infants to toddlers and young children. This development process represents improved strength, coordination, and a more finely tuned cognitive ability. In accordance with this growth, children enrolled in ISR return periodically to participate in Refresher Lessons.

Maintenance Lessons:
Upon completion of your child's initial lessons or refresher lessons, maintenance lessons are recommended to maintain your child's skills
